Gaudendum est universitati

The Papal bull issued by Pope Alexander III canonising Becket as saint.
March 22, 1173: Gaudendum est universitati

University of Zurich: Corpus Corporum

...

Praise to all the faithful because of the miracles of that one holy and deservedly to be revered man Thomas, your archbishop.

England smells sweetly from both the virtue and by the signs which, through the merits of that holy and adored man, Thomas, formerly archbishop of Canterbury, that the all-powerful God has performed and by Christian worship the faithful are rejoicing everywhere, and the whole world, according to him, and because of him, which is wonderful and glorious in holiness, for which he has become famous for his holiness after death, and of and by which his praiseworthy life has supported in many things with the glory of merit, and finally by the martyrdom with which he has been consummated in the glorious contest.

Those things which by judgement or transaction among other matters which have been reasonably established, depending neither on any malignancy for their reliability whether rashly presumed, before it is torn apart or changed, and therefore ought to remain strong and unchanged, and therefore by apostolic authority this is suitably given our seal.
